Student Government Board Announces the Appointment of New Committee Chairs

PITTSBURGH, Pa., January 24, 2008 - The University of Pittsburgh Student Government Board is pleased to announce the appointment of the new SGB Committee Chairpersons for the 2008 SGB term. Jonathan Adams was selected to be the new Academic Affairs Chair; Kevin Morrison was selected to be the new Allocations Chair; Shannon Martin was selected to be the new Diversity Chair; Thomas Hudzik was selected to be the new Environmental Chair; Nikolai Condee-Padunov was selected to be the new Public Relations Chair; Trista Polaski was selected to be the new Freshman Affairs Chair; Rafael Colton was selected to be the new Judicial Chair; Jenna Nonnemacher was selected to be the new Traditions Chair; and Endia Vereen was selected to be the new Governmental Relations Chair.

The nominations took place in the SGB Public Meeting on Tuesday 22 January 2008. The Student Government Board wishes to congratulate all new Chairpersons and wish them the best of luck for the upcoming term.

ABOUT STUDENT GOVERNMENT BOARD - The Student Government Board exists to provide undergraduate, non-CGS students with representation as a student voice to University administration. The SGB represents the needs, interests, and concerns of all Pitt students. Another important aspect of the SGB is allocation of the student activities fee, which provides money to over 350 student organizations at the University of Pittsburgh.

The board is comprised of one President and eight Board Members, all elected by the student body. The SGB also has ten standing committees who address various aspects of campus life, including diversity, freshman involvement, and governmental relations.
